Women’s soccer: Rams defeat Skyline 3-1; onto 2nd round of Norcal Regionals

Having the number two seed and home field advantage in the 2011 Women’s Soccer Norcal Regional playoffs, the Rams were already off on the right foot before their match between the 15th seeded Skyline Trojans even started.

The ball also seemed to bounce City College’s way during the game, as they were able to take advantage of an own goal by Skyline in the Rams 3-1 win at City College’s soccer field on Nov. 19.

Women’s Soccer: Rams win in penalties of 3rd round Norcal Regionals

With her team up 4-3 in penalty kicks after 120 minutes of soccer and nothing separating the two teams, sophomore midfielder Nicole Caiocca was one kick away from sending her team to Sacramento to play in the state championship.
She looked down at the ball, followed through with no hesitation and rocketed it through the net.

Obama’s war on medicinal marijuana unjust

The battle over the legal status of medicinal marijuana escalated on Oct. 5 when the Obama administration ordered California landlords to evict cannabis dispensaries within 45 days. Property owners who object will go to prison and their property will be seized even if they’re in compliance with state and local laws.

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Program at City College was the winner of a 2011 Minnie award for Best Radiologic Technologist Training Program in the entire country. This rating was awarded on Oct. 26, 2011 by AuntMinnie.com, a Web site for professionals in the medical imaging industry.
