What’s a starving student gotta do to save a few bucks? Get your books at Bookloan.

A line spilled out of the student union cafe on Ocean campus today as more than 200 students waited patiently for their chance to check out two text books for free.

Some people arrived as early as 6:30 a.m. to secure a chance to get the books they need, student volunteer Jason Chan said, and most had to wait around 3.5 hours to get to the front.

Second year student Iris Ortiz, 21, said she would save more than $200 by using the bookloan program. Her biology text alone would have cost around $200.

Priority students get first pick today and tomorrow before the program opens up to everyone.
