At the State Championships (April 27-30) the City College of San Franciso Women’s tennis teams’ odds are looking up.
The women’s tennis team celebrated a victory on April 10, winning nine of its 9 matches against Ohlone College. The game was a qualifying conference game, setting the Rams on a great path to the upcoming conference semifinals.
Although recent rain storms have dampened the City College’s Womens tennis season with continued rescheduling, the Rams team is holding its own as it approaches the coast conference championship, which will take place April 13-15 at West Valley College.
After their game versus American River was postponed, the team headed into their first game since the 2020 season versus Monterey Peninsula with the Rams being the traveling side. Despite the Lobos being the homeside, the Rams persevered and beat Monterey 7-2, marking their first win since their 2020 season.
Some teams at City College’s athletics department have decided to resume competition.
The Rams won two doubles matchups, and five singles, for an overall 7-2 victory over the West Valley Vikings.
