California Governor Jerry Brown signed the California Dream Act into law July 25 after it passed both houses of the state legislature, allowing undocumented students to receive funding from private scholarships.
Twitter and news outlets were awash with both praise and disdain after Governor Jerry Brown vetoed the June 15 budget set forth by Democratic lawmakers attempting to balance California’s $9.6 billion deficit.
City College, as well as the rest of the California Community Colleges system, is bracing for devastating funding cuts that will be handed down by the state when legislators finalize California’s 2011-12 budget.
