Last year City College’s journalism department pulled in over 80 awards between the Spring and Fall semesters. Given the track record, therefore, these 17 decorations are likely only the first of many to be awarded to City College journalists in 2022.

The Journalism Association of Community College conference for Fall 2020 took place online and City College students who attended the event brought “home” multiple awards.
Journalism Association of Community College’s (JACC) was forced to cancel their 2020 State Convention that was scheduled on Mar. 19 to Mar. 21, at the Los Angeles Marriott, in Burbank, CA., due to the nation’s shelter in place order. However, awards were still addressed to victors such as Janeth R. Sanchez, Chaira Di Martino, and Meyer Gorelick.
