Bomb scare at Mission campus

A bomb scare caused the evacuation of the Mission campus on Tuesday night, Oct. 11. The scare led the Community College Police Department to cancel classes, shut down the 1100 block of Valencia Street and bring in the San Francisco Police Department Bomb Squad.

When an unidentified person called a bomb threat into the CCPD headquarters on the main campus at 6:30 pm, City College police began to search all campuses.

A 21-year-old male City College student was stabbed multiple times during school hours on May 6, allegedly by another City College student, after an argument erupted in the halls of Mission campus.

Mission library still has few books available

Since the Mission campus officially opened in February 2008, the campus’ library only has about 500 books available for student use which does not meet the current demand for books on campus according to Sirous Monajami, mission campus head librarian.
