City College Journalism Students Are Finalists in National MAGGIE Awards Competition

Two City College journalism students are finalists for 2016 national MAGGIE Awards for student publishing.

Alysia Thompson is a finalist in the Best Print Magazine Article category for a feature story entitled “Parkour Ascends at City College.” Matthew Patton and Thompson are finalists in the Best Magazine Print Cover category. Both entries were from the Fall 2015 issue of Etc. Magazine.

The Western Publishing Association annually recognizes the top trade, consumer, and student publications, as well as video, digital pubs and websites. The winners will be announced on May 1 during the 64th Annual MAGGIE Awards banquet at the Marriott Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport.

This is the first time participation for City College journalism students.
