Members of City College’s school newspaper awarded at Journalism conference among various colleges across the country.
Students in City College’s journalism department won 18 awards in the 44th Annual San Francisco Press Club’s Greater Bay Area Awards. The prizes include eight first place awards.
Several current students and alumni from the City College Journalism program were honored at the San Francisco Press Clubs 2020 award ceremony on Thursday, Sep. 17, and Department Chair Juan Gonzales took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Journalism Association of Community College’s (JACC) was forced to cancel their 2020 State Convention that was scheduled on Mar. 19 to Mar. 21, at the Los Angeles Marriott, in Burbank, CA., due to the nation’s shelter in place order. However, awards were still addressed to victors such as Janeth R. Sanchez, Chaira Di Martino, and Meyer Gorelick.
