 Cases of federal financial aid fraud occur all over the United States, but recently there has been a case involving City College and two other Bay Area schools.

Converting City College into a smoke-free campus has been a discussion topic for many years, but soon it may become a reality.
Campus police have received calls from students and faculty complaining about smoking on campus near doorways, which can lead to cigarette smoke billowing through the hallways and into classrooms.
A closure report required by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges was submitted Oct. 14 describing how City College would carry out the commission’s course of action if the college were to close.
 Carlson says he is inspired by the courage and strength that his students demonstrate in spite of the many hardships college students endure.
“I have become a more focused and [an] efficient thinker and speaker thanks to my students,” Carlson said.
