Gallery Obscura Ressurects 1960’s Toy Cameras

City College hosted its first every toy camera photography gallery at City College’s Gallery Obscura on Jan. 29. The exhibition titled, “Through a Plastic Lens,” is located on Ocean Campus’s Visual Arts Building, in room 160, and included photographs from Professor Stephanie Williamson’s plastic camera class. Williamson also taught students how to pay attention to movements within their camera and how the art of photography has the power to change lives.

Artwork by City College Instructor Maya Scott Displayed at Skylight Gallery

Maia Scott is a CCSF Instructor that has been nominated for the 2019 Changemaker for her local disability community. Her artwork is on display at the San Francisco Public Library until March 14. According to Changemakers website, “ Changemakers is a dynamic traveling exhibition of over 50 portraits of Disability Changemakers living or working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over 50 people were nominated and all of their portraits are in the exhibition. Explore their portraits, their work, their diversity, and their creativity. Find out how people with disabilities are making the world better for all of us.
