Climate Action 2025: “It’s Up to Us”

Trustee Alan Wong proposed a new climate action plan, which, adopted in 2024, continues to guide the college’s steps toward a more sustainable future. The policy sets up the goalposts for City College to address its current status on various sustainability and environmental measurements by 2026 while establishing incremental benchmarks for improvement over the next decade. The policy updates City College’s sustainability plan for the first time since 2009.

CCSF’s $190 million Performing Arts and Education Center Set to Transform Campus and Showcase Diego Rivera Mural

At the heart of the new Performing Arts and Education Center will be the Diego Rivera Theater, which will house the iconic “Pan-American Unity” mural by Diego Rivera. The mural will be displayed in the lobby with a glass wall, making it visible to both the center’s visitors and the pedestrians outside. “The uniqueness of the building will be the installation and display of the mural,” said Alberto Vasquez, associate vice chancellor of the CCSF facilities department.

Lead Contamination Found in Child Development Center

As soon as lead contamination was confirmed, parents were swiftly notified, and both sinks had their water supply turned off and taped off to prevent them from being used until they could be replaced. A bright yellow pamphlet was handed out to parents warning of the dangers of lead around children, and parents were encouraged to get testing done at the doctor’s office.
