AFT 2121 Initial Strike Time Adjusted

The American Federations of Teachers (AFT) Local 2121 has announced a start-time schedule change from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., April 27, 2016 for their strike action at five of nine City College of San Francisco locations plus 33 Gough St.

This schedule change was done in light of Interim Chancellor Susan Lamb’s recent decision and announcement to close all eleven City College locations during the one-day strike due to inadequate staffing resources to maintain operations and provide adequate campus safety. Campus police will be on duty and have been instructed to respect picketers who engage in peaceful protest.

Online priority registration will be the only college operation still available to current and prospective students. Normal college operations will resume Thursday, April 28, 2016.

AFT 2121 picket lines will now run from 8 to 11 a.m. at which time teachers have been instructed to meet at City College’s Civic Center location, 1170 Market St., for a noontime rally. After the rally, instructors will return to their respective locations and resume picketing till 730 p.m..

Ocean Campus will have six picket lines with a map of picket sites to be posted on AFT 2121’s website late Tuesday, April 26, 2016. All picketers have been instructed to check AFT 2121’s website for further strike updates, http://aft2121.org.
