Health check anyone?

City College students flocked to the Health Center for the annual Health Fair on Oct. 13 to take advantage of free health check services.

The day’s festivities included outdoor stations by Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk, Project Survive and the counseling department.

Nursing department students in white scrub uniforms and phlebotomy students in black scrub uniforms examined students for high blood pressure, anemia, and high sugar and cholesterol count.

The Health Center also provided students with pamphlets about good eating habits, smoking, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Becky Perilli, director of student health services, said she was grateful for all the student volunteers and the medical assistant student volunteers who helped.
