City College Journalism is Host to 50 High School Journalism Students for One-Day Training

Some 50 high school journalism students participated in a journalism boot camp held on campus on March 12.

City College’s journalism department and the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club co-hosted the event that kicked-off in the Diego Rivera Theater. The boot camp included workshops in the Creative Arts Building on writing, photography, social media, and careers in the media.

The journalism department showcased the work of its award-winning photojournalists and handed out department literature and copies of its award-winning publications, The Guardsman and Etc. Magazine.

CCSF journalism students also sponsored an Instagram and Twitter contest, and conducted a raffle for the visiting students.
Planning is underway for a similar program in Spring 2017.
